Most of have experienced the problem that occurs when someone using Office 2007 sends us a file, but we can’t open it since we still have Office 2003 (or earlier).
Solution: Go to the following website and look at the bottom of the page and click on “Download and install Microsoft Office 2007 File Converter”. Follow the steps and you will be able to open the 2007 files.

It’s hard to believe it’s time for another year. Hopefully this will be the best yet, as far as technology goes. Good news!!! I will be able to help you more this year. I have a “Technology Block” 2nd period on A days. This means quicker response times when you have a problem, more frequent updates to the school website, and more time for me to come up with things to help you.
Additionally, this blog can be used to post problems, solutions and cool ways you are using technology in your classroom. I will regularly post tricks, hints, and useful websites here as well. Just click on the “Technology” Category on the right hand side of the blog to get a list of all technology related posts.

The feedback that has been provided about Marketplace has raised another question…this website. Given the capabilities of the web, can you make suggestions for ways to better take advantage of this technology next year?

Last week Principles of Finance students wrote about their experiences this year. (More about that in a later post). One topic that everyone had an opinion about was Marketplace. Most students thought Marketplace was a valuable tool, while others were completely bored and would rather have brain surgery than listen to Marketplace.
Incorporating current events and current financial conditions into the class is an essential component of the course. So, how would you improve this part of the course? If you liked Marketplace, how could it be made better? If you didn’t like Marketplace, what do you recommend in its place?

Congratulations to David Johnny and Mike Hrabowski, who were first semester Principles of Finance students. Both competed in the State FBLA competition in the Intro to Business category.
David won first place and Mike was the runner-up. Both are now eligible to attend the National FBLA competition in June in Atlanta. Well done!!!

Has it really been 5 weeks since I updated this blog? Wow! Obviously I’m a slacker, or maybe time flies. Did you know there’s only 25 school days until Graduation 2008? What are your thoughts on this school year, or about this class?
